Western-style acupuncture is the evolution of the ancient therapeutic method of classical acupuncture that originated in China (Ancient Chinese Medicine).
In the application of this therapeutic method, particularly thin and sterile disposable needles are inserted into specific points of the body for therapeutic or preventive purposes. This results in the body producing natural substances (such as endorphins) that relieve pain. These naturally released substances are responsible for the beneficial effects that occur with acupuncture. In order to achieve the best possible stimulation and production of these natural substances, electroacupuncture devices are often used . Electroacupuncture is a therapeutic technique of Western-style acupuncture, which allows us to electrically stimulate some of the points where we have inserted the needles (which are connected to the device in pairs), thus achieving continuous, intense and controlled stimulation. It has been proven that the effectiveness of electroacupuncture in treating pain is more significant than that of traditional acupuncture.
Western-style acupuncture is often considered a form of complementary or alternative therapy and can thus be very well combined with other therapeutic methods, such as physiotherapy.
