Ackermann Μethod

Ackermann College College was founded in 1974 by Dr. W.P. Ackermann , DC , DN , HP , in Stockholm. Dr. Ackermann ’s “Structural Osteopathy and Gentle Chiropractic” method has been tested for approximately 40 years on thousands of patients. It is a manual therapy method that combines structural osteopathy and gentle chiropractic. The Ackermann method’s chiropractic manipulations aim initially to provide a holistic assessment and then to correct and restore the mechanics of the spine and peripheral joints.

The Ackermann method offers immediate pain-free joint movement release. It uses high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) chiropractic techniques, which are the most commonly used chiropractic techniques.

When applying the Ackermann method, a clinical examination, palpation and diagnostic tests are always performed on the lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine as well as on the peripheral joints, in order to find the primary link of dysfunction as well as the joints in the kinetic chain that interact, in order to restore normal function of the spine and peripheral joints. Indicatively, the method is used for thoracic outlet syndrome, headaches, back pain, etc.
